Up for sale, a 2013 Fender '71 Stratocaster FSR model ST71-ASH in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with owner’s manual. This “Made in Japan” Strat was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market as an FSR (Factory Special Run) limited edition featuring a custom color gloss Walnut finish with matching headstock and a trio of USA-made Fender Custom Shop Texas Special single coil pickups.
Tonewoods include an ash body, maple neck and slab rosewood fretboard, and this Strat weighs 7lbs 15oz. The Texas Special pickups are faithful to vintage spec, with black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and Alnico V magnets, delivering an array of classic Stratocaster tonalities, slightly overwound for additional output and midrange punch. The bridge pickup has a snappy, aggressive sparkle, the neck pickup is smooth and broad, and the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector switch offer hollow Strat quack. This FSR Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
