Up for sale, a 2013 Fender Jazz Bass '62 vintage reissue model JB62 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with a rare Lake Placid Blue custom color finish and dark brown tortoise pickguard. Made in Japan and particularly well-crafted, this discontinued model was only offered in the Japanese domestic market, rarely seen outside its country of origin. Weighing 8lbs 14oz, this Jazz Bass has a solid feel with the bridge pickup providing a slightly aggressive, yet full tone that accentuates the sweet growl of a set of roundwound 45-105 strings. The neck pickup has a nice thump and presence as well, and the two single coils compliment each other well, with what we feel is the best sound the bass has to offer, equal parts midrange punch and low end warmth. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Jazz Bass plays well with low action and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C profile carve at the nut, with full shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .810" deep at the 1st fret and .970" at the 12th. On the thick slab rosewood fretboard, the original slender frets have well-rounded crowns and their full factory height, showing just a touch of wear on the crowns of frets 1-5. The bass boasts Fender's traditional 1 1/2" Jazz Bass nut width, with a full 34" scale and vintage-spec 7 1/4" fretboard radius. The bass plays cleanly in all registers, the neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. On the headstock, the chrome-plated clover button tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well, and there are a few tiny nicks along the top headstock edge. The "Made in Japan" text and JD13-prefix serial are present just above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics work as they should, with stock pickups and pots. The chrome-plated bridge and control plate have great shine, and the dark reddish brown tortoise three-ply pickguard contrasts nicely with the gloss finish. Abbreviated as OLB or "Old Lake Blue" by Fender Japan, this finish is a vintage-correct, dark, and icy shade of Lake Placid Blue. Cosmetic wear is limited to some small dings concentrated on the treble-side lower bout body edge and extending to the top adjacent to the bridge, along with some finish scratches in the clear coat on the back. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

A gigbag is included.
