2013 Fender G.E. Smith Telecaster Black w/ Tweed Case & Hangtags

+ shipping

Up for sale, a 2013 Fender G.E. Smith Telecaster in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original tweed hardshell case, hangtags, and case candy. Through his six hit-making years with Hall and Oates, his decade-long run as Saturday Night Live bandleader, and his touring stints with Bob Dylan, Smith is widely hailed as a modern master of the Telecaster. In his honor, Fender created this Artist Series Tele, a special guitar that combines '40s-era Fender lap steel fretboard inlays with a '50s-era Telecaster feature set. This Tele boasts a U-shaped maple neck, lap steel "oval and diamond" fingerboard inlays, a custom cut-off bridge plate, body-mounted bridge pickup, and gloss nitro lacquer Black finish accented by a five-screw white pickguard.

The tonewood complement comprises a premium ash body and a one-piece maple neck, and this Telecaster is featherweight 6lbs 15oz. The American Vintage single coil pickups deliver quintessential Tele sparkle and snap, with chewy twang at the bridge and bell-like fullness at the neck that retains excellent percussive cut. This G.E. Smith Telecaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black nitro lacquer finish is limited to one tiny chip at the lower bout perimeter and a couple faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole.
