2013 Fender Classic 70s Telecaster Vintage Reissue Natural Ash Body w/ Case, Japan MIJ

+ shipping

Up for sale, a 2013 Fender Classic 70s Telecaster in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with an upgraded hardshell case. A discontinued model designed only to be sold in the Japanese domestic market, this Tele is rarely seen outside its country of origin.

Tonally, this Telecaster takes full advantage of its tonewood complement, with the midrange punch and complexity of the two-piece ash body, and the ideal top end articulation and snap of the maple fingerboard. The bridge pickup has plenty of twang and cut, and the neck pickup is throaty and warm without losing definition. The guitar weighs 8lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .890" at the 12th. The maple fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius with flawless original slender frets wire. The guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 5/8" nut width, and the headstock has a '70s-style block logo and chrome Gotoh tuners that turn smoothly. The "Made in Japan" text and JD13-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt F neck plate.

All of the electronics work as intended, and the hardware is clean as can be including the flat-topped knurled knobs and steel bridge saddles. The Natural gloss finish is accented by a three-ply black pickguard which shows some light pick scuffing on the treble side. Cosmetic wear is otherwise limited to just a couple exceedingly faint finish scratches on the back in the clear coat of the gloss. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

A black tolex hardshell case is included.
