Up for sale, a 2013 Fender Classic 60s Stratocaster vintage reissue electric guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. With a gloss Olympic White finish, this Made in Japan Strat was sold exclusively to the Japanese domestic market and had a particularly short production run, thus rarely seen outside its country of origin. If you're looking to deliver plenty of authoritative single coil cut, it's hard to beat this particular ceramic magnet single coil pickup complement. These pickups have more punch and power than the more common alnico pickups and sound distinct and clear in all positions on the five-way switch. Weighing 7lbs 6oz, this Strat has a bold tone with great clarity. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with fresh 10-46 strings, this Strat is ready for stage and studio use.
The maple neck has a round, full-feeling C profile carve with generous shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .860" deep at the 1st fret and .970" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard is a dark cut of this particular tonewood with a traditional 7 1/4" fretboard radius and stock slender vintage-style frets. The frets have good height and meat, showing virtually no wear and playing cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1.680" in width (just shy of 1 11/16"). On the headstock, the Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines have the correct vintage look, turn smoothly, and hold pitch well. The "Made in Japan" text and JD13-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.
All of the electronics work as they should, with a trio of staggered pole piece single coil pickups. The vibrato has a full-size block for great sustain, and the unit is very responsive for smooth surfy warbles and deeper dives, jumping back to the original pitch with ease. The gloss Olympic White finish is accented by a three-ply mint green pickguard and cream plastic parts, and the chrome hardware has plenty of shine. Cosmetic wear is limited to a touch of light scuffing on the lower bout body edge, one small nick on the outside edge of the bass-side body horn, and a tiny bit of finish checking at the edge of the neck pocket. The ambered gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Fender Japan gigbag is included.
