Up for sale, a 2013 Fender American Vintage ‘64 Jazz Bass in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original G&G blonde tolex hardshell case.  An example of the uncommon second generation of the AVRI Jazz Bass, released in 2012 and retooled to be even more vintage accurate than its predecessors, this American Vintage Jazz Bass was a short-lived offering. Features include long stem reverse-action tuners, threaded saddles, redesigned gray bobbin pickups, clay dot inlay on the rosewood fingerboard, and a “flash coat” Lake Placid Blue nitro lacquer finish.

With an alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard, this bass looks and sounds the part of the genuine vintage article. The tone is equal parts low end warmth and midrange cut, with the smooth growl and upper midrange burp of the bridge pickup blending well with the fullness and thump of the neck position single coil. Combined, the two pickups produce an array of sounds appropriate for virtually any live or recording situation, from punchy and immediate to warm and rumbling. This American Vintage ‘64 Jazz Bass weighs 8lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.

Fender's "flash coat" Lake Placid Blue nitro lacquer gloss finish is a re-branding of the "Thin Skin" concept, in which the lacquer is sprayed very thinly with no poly base coat, ensuring maximum acoustic resonance. Cosmetic wear on this bass is limited to light buckle worming central to the back and just a few minor marks on the body as a whole. The smooth “flash coat” nitro lacquer gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original G&G blonde tolex hardshell case is included (one latche is non-functional).
