Up for sale, a 2013 Fender American Vintage ‘64 Jazz Bass in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags and case candy. An example of the uncommon second generation of the AVRI Jazz Bass, released in 2012 and retooled to be even more vintage accurate than its predecessors, this American Vintage Jazz Bass was a short-lived offering produced shortly before the line was officially retired. Vintage-accurate features include long stem reverse-action tuners, threaded saddles, “ashtray” bridge and pickup covers, clay dot inlay on the rosewood fretboard, and a “flash coat” Lake Placid Blue nitro lacquer finish with matching headstock.

Boasting an alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard, this bass looks and sounds the part of the genuine vintage article. The tone is equal parts low end warmth and midrange cut, with the smooth growl and upper midrange burp of the bridge pickup blending well with the fullness and thump of the neck position single coil. Combined, the two pickups produce an array of sounds appropriate for virtually any live or recording situation, from punchy and immediate to warm and rumbling. This American Vintage ‘64 Jazz Bass weighs 9lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-105 flatwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.

Fender's "flash coat" Lake Placid Blue nitro lacquer gloss finish is a re-branding of the "Thin Skin" concept, where the lacquer is sprayed very thin with no poly base coat, ensuring maximum acoustic resonance. Cosmetic wear is limited to light buckle scuffing central to the back and just a few minor nicks and scratches on the rest of the body, with a tiny bit of finish chipping at the edges of the neck pocket and neck plate. The lacquer gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original G&G blonde tolex hardshell case, hangtags, factory paperwork, and case candy are included.
