Up for sale, a 2013 Fender American Standard Stratocaster in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and factory paperwork. This Fender reflects the high quality reinvention of the Stratocaster platform in the modern era. With reverence for Fender's past and a host of modern, player-friendly features, this USA-made Strat features Custom Shop Fat '50s single coils, a 9 1/2" fretboard radius on the 22 fret maple fingerboard, medium jumbo fretwire, a two-point tremolo, and Schaller tuning machines, all tweaks on the classic Strat platform that ensure optimal playability and tone.With a traditional tonewood complement of an alder body and maple neck, this Strat has a snappy, balanced acoustic tone that translates well through the Custom Shop Fat ‘50s pickups. Featuring black blac fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads, formvar magnet wire, and staggered hand-beveled Alnico V magnets; the Fat ‘50s are some of Fender’s best single coils to date. Reverse wound in the middle position for hum-cancelling functionality and optimal hollow Strat quack, the pickups deliver plenty of classic single coil sparkle; rounder and bell-like at the neck, with chewy snap and cut at the bridge. This guitar weighs 7lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and spot-on intonation.The maple neck has a medium depth “Modern C”-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840” deep at the 1st fret and .895” at the 12th. While the profile has a smooth, flawless satin finish, the headstock face and fretboard sport a high gloss. The original medium jumbo fretwire is remarkably clean with only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. This guitar plays cleanly in all registers with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The scale length is 25 1/2”, and the stock nut measures 1 11/16” in width. The headstock sports “Fender”-branded Schaller-made tuners with clean chrome plating that turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch.The original electronics function flawlessly, with the Custom Shop Fat '50s pickups wired to a five-way pickup selector toggle and traditional Strat control array. The chrome hardware is positively gleaming, and the vibrato still has its small metallic sticker over the hole for the arm, indicative of the sparingly little use this guitar has seen since new (the vibrato arm is included). The plastic parts are equally as clean, comprising a three-ply parchment pickguard and cream pickup covers and knobs. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Sunburst finish is limited to just a few faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The satin finish on the neck profile is immaculate.The original Fender-branded molded hardshell case and manual are included.
