Up for sale, a 2012 Ibanez Prestige RG2820ZD in showroom-clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This finely crafted Ibanez was produced at the Fujigen factory as part of the upscale Prestige line; it’s a limited edition model, and reportedly as few as 15 examples of this model exist. Tonewoods include a bound alder body, a five-piece maple/walnut neck, and a thick slab rosewood fretboard, and this guitar is loaded with the stock pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers.

In the neck position is an SH-2N Jazz, which has a glassy treble response and full-yet-tight bass, plus scooped mids to help each note sing clearly even under high gain. In the bridge position is a TB-14 Custom 5, designed as a brighter, Alnico V version of the much-lauded Custom Custom humbucker, delivering a full, rich tone with an ideal balance of bass and treble. The five-way pickup selector also coil tapps the humbuckers in positions 2 and 4. Lightweight at just 7lbs 1oz, this Ibanez has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and spot-on intonation.

The five-piece maple/walnut neck profile has Ibanez’s Wizard HP Prestige shape, a slender D carve with full shoulders and a fast feel, measuring .720” deep at the 1st fret and .795” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard sports dot inlay, and the medium fretwire is flawless. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the Top-Lok locking nut measures a full 1 11/16” (43mm) in width. On the headstock, the Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch.

All of the electronics function as intended, with the pickups governed by a five-way selector switch and Master Volume and Tone controls. The Sure Grip knobs have ridged rubber grips for easy swells and on-the-fly adjustments. The Edge Zero tremolo actuates smoothly and bounces back to pitch reliably, remaining stable through the deepest divebombs, assisted by the ZPS3 stabilizer, which also facilitates easier string changes and setups. The chrome plating on the tremolo shines like new.

The gloss Tri Fade Burst finish is framed on top by cream binding and highlights the grain of the alder body. There’s barely a scratch on the body as a whole, and the smooth satin finish on the neck profile is similarly flawless.

The original Ibanez molded hardshell case is included, along with the case candy and an owner’s manual.
