Up for sale, a 2012 Gretsch G6128T-TVTAFWO Duo Jet in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, COA, and hangtags. This Gretsch is a fairly uncommon Factory Special Run model boasting a bookmatched tiger flame maple top capping the chambered mahogany body. The TV Jones Classic Filter'Tron humbucker pickups have Gretsch's signature power and midrange presence, with the top end twang and articulation that has made this instrument a favorite for Rockabilly and Western Swing. Acoustically the chambered body gives the instrument a prominent, clear voice, and as such, the guitar weighs a manageable 7lbs 15oz, truly a feat for a Bigsby-equipped instrument. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Gretsch features 11-49 roundwound strings and low action. The mahogany neck has soft V profile carve measuring .830" deep at the 1st fret and .975" at the 12th. The ebony fretboard features neo-classic thumbnail inlay and flawless fretwire. The guitar plays effortlessly up the 24.6" scale length, and the nut measures 1 11/16” in width. The bound headstock features Gretsch's "T Roof" inlay and stock Grover Sta-Tite tuning machines. All of the hardware is virtually flawless, including the original lightweight aluminum nickel-plated Tru Arc roller bridge which adds a distinctive articulation and treble clarity to the instrument's sound, working in concert with the B3G Bigsby tailpiece. The Bigsby which works very smoothly with a resilient spring that's great for quick dives and surfy shimmies. All of the electronics work as they should, with a Master Volume on the treble side body horn, individual Volume controls on the lower bout, and three-way Volume and Tone switches on the bass side of the body. Cosmetically, this guitar is extremely well kept, with a high gloss Western Orange Stain highlighting the tight tiger flame that extends evenly across the top with great consistency and no bald spots. Cosmetic wear on the body is limited to faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the back, while the neck profile is flawless.
