Up for sale, a 2012 Gibson SG Standard Limited Edition model with a Silverburst gloss finish in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and factory paperwork. A rare model outfitted from the factory with Gibson Burstbucker 1 & 3 PAF pickups, this SG has a range of vintage flavored tones paired with one of Gibson's most beloved nitro lacquer finish options. And in addition to boasting a pair of Gibson's premier PAF pickups, this SG has a real slab ebony fretboard and push/pull coil tap switches for both pickups. The glassy articulation of the ebony is a perfect pairing for the warmth and growl of the solid mahogany body and neck, and when a sound with more jangle and treble sparkle is required, the coil tap push/pull pots are a welcome addition to this limited edition SG model. The Burstbucker 1 in the neck position has the harmonic complexity and smooth, articulate tonal response of the PAF design, while the Burstbucker 3 in the bridge position is a more overwound variant, pushing an amp a bit harder while still retaining the overarching PAF sound, with a dynamic, touch-sensitive quality. Featherweight at only 6lbs 10oz, this SG has a rich acoustic sound that translates well through the pickups, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation. The mahogany neck has a slender '60s-style C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders, measuring .810" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 12th. The ebony fretboard retains the original vintage-style frets which have their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-6. The guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and on the headstock, the Kluson Deluxe double line tuners with greened tulip buttons turn very smoothly. All of the electronics work as intended, including the individual coil tap push/pull pots for each of the Burstbucker humbuckers. Both humbuckers retain their PAF stickers on their baseplates, along with additional dated stickers from 2012. The chrome-plated hardware is gleaming in its presentation, and plastics include a quartet of reflector cap knobs and a single-ply black pickguard which exhibits light pick scuffing on the treble side. The Silverburst gloss finish has a spot of light buckle rash central to the back, and there a few additional light finish scratches and minor marks on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless. The original hardshell case and factory paperwork is included.
