2012 Fender Telecaster '71 Vintage Reissue TL71/Ash Natural Near Mint w/ Hangtags, Japan MIJ

Up for sale, a 2012 Fender Telecaster '71 vintage reissue model TL71/Ash in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags and Fender-branded gigbag. Made in Japan, this Tele is long ago discontinued model, designed for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside its country of origin.The guitar features a Natural gloss finish over the lightly figured ash body paired with a one-piece maple neck, and the guitar's natural acoustic tone delivers the treble articulation of maple and the midrange heft and authority of ash. The resulting tonal palette yields a bridge pickup that has ample twang and chime, while the neck pickup has a smooth, open tone with warm lower mids and airy highs. The guitar is featherweight at 7lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve, yet with full shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .810" deep at the 1st fret and .890" at the 12th. The original slender frets are practically perfect, showing just a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-3. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the 25 1/2" scale, and the neck is straight with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 42mm in width (1.653"). The headstock features a '70s-style Telecaster block logo, as well as original Gotoh tuners that turn very smoothly. The "Made in Japan" text and JD12-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt "F" neck plate.All of the original electronics function as intended, with the stock pickup pair governed by Master Volume and Tone knobs. The bridge features a trio of steel barrel saddles, showing just a touch of light surface patina, while the chrome plating on the control plate and knurled knobs is nigh flawless. Wear on the Natural gloss finish is limited to a few pinhead-sized nicks and a faint finish scuff or two on the body as a whole. The unambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included, along with all hangtags.
