Up for sale, a 2012 Fender Jazz Bass '62 vintage reissue model JB62-US in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A rare and discontinued Made in Japan bass rarely seen outside the Japanese domestic market, this 1962 reissue Jazz Bass is an upper-tier model with USA-made Fender pickups and vintage-spec touches including full-size tuner baseplates and spiral bridge saddles. The fit and finish of this Jazz Bass rivals Fender's American Vintage line of instruments, and both acoustically and plugged in, this Jazz Bass is an impressive instrument.

With an alder body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fingerboard, the bass delivers a clear and balanced natural tone with excellent sustain and strong note attack. The bridge pickup has the power, burp, and presence that helps a Jazz Bass cut through in ensemble situations, and it's easy to dial in the right amount of midrange growl and fundamental thump when balancing the sound between the two single coils. The tone can get quite smooth and wide too, simply by rolling off the bridge pickup Volume and Master Tone control, for a thick sound that doesn't lack definition. The bass weighs 9lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with roundwound 45-100 strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C shape with good shoulder, measuring .805" deep at the 1st fret and .990" at the 12th. The particularly thick slab rosewood fretboard features a 7 1/4" radius and pristine stock slender fretwire. The bass plays cleanly in all registers with a straight neck and optimally adjusted truss rod. The bass conforms to traditional Fender spec with a 34" scale length and 1 1/2" nut width. On the headstock, the tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well, featuring correct full-size vintage-spec baseplates and clover buttons. The "Made in Japan" text and JD12-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics work as they should, with stock USA-made pickups. The control plate and bridge have nigh spotless chrome plating, and the bridge features vintage-spec spiral saddles. The dark brown tortoise pickguard contrasts nicely with the three-tone gloss Sunburst finish, and there's barely a mark on the bass.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
