Up for sale, a 2012 Fender Deluxe 8 console steel model DLX8 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and telescoping legs. This console steel faithfully captures the finer aesthetic and tonal qualities of a vintage '50s Fender steel, featuring a basswood body and the pair of single coil pickups.
The tone is quintessential Fender single coil richness and chime, and the black bobbin pickup pair is wound similar to a Stratocaster, with identical construction save for the 8 pole design. There's a bell-like sweetness to the sound that is equal parts twang and silk, and beneath the bridge cover, a Pickup Blend wheel adjusts the balance between the two coils. This DLX8 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 15-55 strings.
Specs:
Scale Length: 22 1/2“, 29 frets
String Spacing: 2 1/5“ at nut, 2 1/2“ at bridge
Peghead: “Patent #” tuner cover, Kluson-style tuning machines
Playing Surface: Block position markers
Controls: Volume, Tone, Pickup Blend wheel (beneath bridge cover)
Hardware: Chrome-plated flat-topped knurled knobs, control plate, bridge cover
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” JD12-prefix serial
The gloss Blonde finish exhibits only a couple of minor finish chips along the bass-side edges, light scuffing on top along the treble side of the strum path, and a handful of faint marks on the body as a whole.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the trio of chrome-plated telescoping legs. The handle of the case retains the factory protective plastic.
