Out Of Stock
Up for sale, a 2012 Fender American Select Jazz Bass in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original tweed G&G hardshell case and factory paperwork. A discontinued and short-lived upscale USA-made Jazz Bass, this model boasts a two-piece bookmatched flame maple top over an alder body, paired with a maple neck and thick slab compound radius rosewood fingerboard. Other welcome modern features include a High-Mass Vintage bridge which can be strung either through the body or as a top loader, and Fender/Hipshot tuners with tapered shafts, offering a smooth, reliable response.

The pair of American Select pickups channel the natural properties of the instrument, and this bass has a warm, mellow acoustic tone with a surprising amount of sonic depth. Strung with fresh roundwound 45-105 strings, there's plenty of richness in the low end, with upper midrange growl and sweet treble articulation and grind. The bass weighs 9lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with comfortable action and accurate intonation.

The quartersawn maple neck has what Fender describes as a "Modern C" profile carve, more exactingly presenting as a medium depth U shape with round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .940" at the 12th. The thick and extremely dark unbound rosewood slab fretboard has pearl block inlay and a compound 9.5-14" radius, retaining flawless medium jumbo fretwire. The bass plays easily up the 34" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 1/2" in width, and the headstock features Fender/Hipshot tuners with gleaming chrome plating.

All of the electronics function as intended, with a traditional Jazz Bass control array, and hardware includes the High-Mass Vintage bridge. The Amber Burst gloss finish highlights the tight, straight tiger flame figuring which extends evenly across the top. Cosmetic wear includes a small spot of buckle rash at the treble-side waist, a bit of light guitar stand-related wear just to the treble side of the rear strap button, and a few additional faint finish scratches and minor dings on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original Fender G&G Deluxe tweed hardshell case with red plush interior is included, along with the truss rod adjustment tool and factory paperwork.
