Up for sale, a 2011 Paul Reed Smith Sweet 16 amplifier in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Designed by PRS and master amp builder Doug Sewell, the Sweet 16 is a versatile amplifier that can easily adapt to the needs of any player, equally comfortable with pristine Jazz sounds as with big, distorted crunch. Sonically, this amp is very balanced; when clean, the highs are crisp and sparkling, with plenty of warm, bold low end to round out the sound. The distortion characteristics are very musical and harmonically complex, and with the guitar's volume rolled back, the Sweet 16 is subtle and purring, responding dynamically to user inputs and for optimal dynamic, expressive playing.
Controls include Volume, Reverb, Treble, Middle, Bass, and Master knobs, and there’s a two-way Bright switch for an extra kick of sparkle. The 16 watt circuit throws a lot of sound, and this compact amp easily has enough authority to function in smaller/mid-size live performance applications. The tube complement includes a matched pair of JJ 6V6 power tubes with a preamp section of three JJ ECC83Ss and one Tung-Sol 12AX7.
Cosmetic touches include black tolex, a gold Paul Reed Smith signature badge, and a premium leather handle. The original knobs are all present, and the graphics are pristine. This amplifier is in fantastic shape, with just a scant few faint marks on the enclosure as a whole.
