Up for sale, a 2011 FGN Cool Z Dignity ZLC-1 electric guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Crafted exclusively for the Japanese market at the renowned Fujigen Gakki factory and only sold at the Shimamura chain of music shops, this Cool Z brand is particularly rare and the sub-brand of Fujigen's History line.
This finely crafted LP includes a carved maple top, mahogany body, and mahogany neck with long neck tenon, capped with a bound rosewood fingerboard. These tonewoods translate a traditional LP tonal palette through the stock pair of PAF-style humbuckers. The pickups are dynamic, clear, and harmonically rich, with a sweet growl and cut in the bridge position, while the neck pickup retains plenty of attack and note clarity, offering a thicker sound ideal for lead work. The guitar weighs 10lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action, solid intonation, and fresh 10-46 strings.
The mahogany neck has a medium C profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders in every register and a hair more heft as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .950” at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features pearloid block inlay and FGN’s unique Circle Fretting System with medium jumbo fretwire. The fretwire is imperceptibly curved, installed so that each string and fret intersect at right angles to minimize the contact surface, yielding more accurate pitch, cleaner longer sustaining notes, and truer harmonics. The frets show zero wear, playing cleanly in every register up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck with an optimally adjusted, responsive truss rod. The carved bone nut measures 1 11/16" in width. The bound headstock features Cool Z and Dignity inlays, and the gold set of Grover Rotomatic tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
On the body, all of the electronics work as they should with a three-way pickup selector toggle and individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup. The black speed knobs are intact, and the gold plating has plenty of shine with light surface patina. The Ebony gloss finish shows sparingly little wear with the protective clear factory film still intact on the rear control cavity and switch covers. There are just a few faint finish scratches and minor marks on the body as a whole, while the gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Cool Z-branded padded gigbag is included.
