Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Vintage Hot Rod ‘52 Telecaster Limited Edition “Tele-bration” model, near-mint and in perfect working order, complete with the original tweed hardshell case, hangtags, and case candy. This rare Telecaster iteration was produced in limited quantities as part of the “Tele-bration” series, celebrating 60 years of Tele production, featuring a full-size Seymour Duncan ‘59 SH-1 humbucker in the neck position (as opposed to the mini-humbucker typically seen on the Hot Rod model). Vintage-correct appointments include a nitro lacquer Butterscotch Blonde finish, V-shaped neck profile, and a five-screw “blackguard”-style pickguard.
Tonewoods include an ash body and a one-piece maple neck, delivering a lively treble cut and complex midrange character. The bridge position has plenty of chewy twang and sparkle, and the Seymour Duncan SH-1 ‘59 humbucker at the neck is wound in the PAF mold, with smooth treble growl, spongey low end and plenty of honk and chirp. The pickups blend well in the middle switch position for a “best of both worlds” sound. This Hot Rod ‘52 “Tele-bration” Tele weighs 7lbs 15oz, benefitting from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
