Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Telecaster Thinline Super Deluxe in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Arguably the most "Deluxe" of the iterations of the Super Deluxe model produced by Fender, this guitar is the perfect middle ground between a Fender Telecaster Thinline and a Gretsch White Falcon. The guitar boasts a pair of Gretsch-style Fideli'Tron pickups, a bound ebony fretboard, double bound semi-hollow body, and white matching headstock. Both visually and tonally, this is an impressive guitar and a rare, discontinued model produced by Fender Japan only for the Japanese domestic market.Featherweight at 6lbs 14oz, this Tele has a natural acoustic tone that is both snappy and warm. The Fideli'Tron pickups capture the complex midrange and dynamic, rich response of Gretsch's best humbuckers, and the three-way pickup selector switch yields everything from bridge position cut to thick, burly neck pickup roar. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Tele is dialed in with 11-49 strings, low action and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a chunky C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder in every register, measuring .855" deep at the 1st fret and .945" at the 12th. The bound ebony fretboard has pearloid block inlays, and the slender vintage-style fretwire has well-rounded crowns, showing just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-2. The guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 42mm in width (1.650"). The headstock has a white gloss finish and gold Gotoh Kluson-style tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well with just a touch of patina on the plating. The "Made in Japan" text and U-prefix serial are present above the three-bolt F neck plate. All of the electronics work as intended, and the guitar features nigh flawless gold plating on the pickup covers and bridge, paired with a Gretsch-style plexi pickguard. This guard has a smooth edge bevel and the dimension and depth typically attributed to Gretsch's floating guards. Both the top and back of the body have ivory multi-ply binding, providing a subtle contrast to the bright white high gloss finish. Even the F hole is bound, and this Tele is simply tip-top in every respect, with no expense spared to craft an elegant instrument. There's barely a scratch on the body, and the gloss on the neck profile is equally pristine.A padded Ritter gigbag is included.
