Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Telecaster Super Deluxe ‘72 vintage reissue model TN72-FT/MH in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A model worthy of the “Deluxe” moniker, this guitar is essentially the middle ground between a Telecaster Thinline and a Gretsch Black Falcon. The guitar boasts a pair of Gretsch-style Fideli'Tron pickups, a bound ebony fretboard, and a double bound semi-hollow mahogany body. Both visually and tonally, this is an impressive guitar and a rare, discontinued model produced very briefly by Fender Japan only for the Japanese domestic market.

Featherweight at 6lbs 15oz, this Tele has a natural acoustic tone that is both snappy and warm. The Fideli'Tron pickups capture the complex midrange and dynamic, rich response of Gretsch's best humbuckers, and the three-way pickup selector switch yields everything from bridge position cut to thick, burly neck pickup roar. This TN72-FT/MH has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders and ideal heft, measuring .840” deep at the 1st fret and .940” at the 12th. The bound ebony fretboard is inlaid with pearloid blocks, and the slender fretwire is nigh flawless, only exhibiting a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-3. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the bone nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. On the matching headstock, the nickel-plated Kluson-style tuning machines turn smoothly, and the “Made in Japan” text and U-prefix serial number are present above the three-bolt "F" neck plate.

All of the electronics work as intended, and the guitar features clean plating on the pickup covers and bridge, paired with a Gretsch-style plexi pickguard. This guard has a smooth edge bevel and the dimension and depth typically attributed to Gretsch's floating guards. Both the top and back of the body have ivory multi-ply binding, framing the Black high gloss finish. Even the F hole is bound, and this Tele is simply tip-top in every respect, with no expense spared to craft an elegant instrument. Cosmetic wear is limited to just a scant few microscopic marks on the body as a whole, and the gloss on the neck profile is pristine.

A Fender-branded faux leather padded gigbag (a premium option) is included.
