Up for sale, a 2011 Fender ST-62FR Stratocaster in near mint, 100% original condition and perfect working order. Made in Japan exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, this bonafide Superstrat is exceedingly rare, featuring an HSS pickup configuration, a Floyd Rose-licensed Gotoh tremolo, and a custom color Torino Red gloss finish.

Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, yielding a balanced, resonant acoustic tone channeled faithfully through the HSS pickup complement. The single coils in the neck and middle positions are a pair of ST Single pups, and the bridge pickup is a Dragster humbucker, all made in Japan. The ST Singles give a classic Strat sound with lots of sparkle and cut, while the Dragster allows for higher output and fuller, rounder mids and lows. This Stratocaster weighs 8lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with shred-ready 9-42 strings, low action and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and a fast, effortless feel, measuring .815” deep at the 1st fret and .925” at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features dot inlay, lightly rolled fretboard edges, and original medium jumbo frets. The frets are practically perfect, retaining their full factory height and well-rounded crowns. This Strat plays easily up the 25 1/2” scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The locking nut measures 1 11/16” in width. The headstock has a universal string retainer, locking nut and black Gotoh-branded tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The black headstock face has a simple (and uncommon) Fender logo sans Stratocaster text. The “Made in Japan” text and U-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt black neck plate.

All the electronics function as intended, with a five-way pickup selector and Master Volume and Tone knobs governing the HSS pickup configuration. The tremolo system is a Floyd Rose-licensed Gotoh GE-1996T, renowned for its stability and consistency, featuring nigh flawless black plating. The tremolo cavity cover has been removed, but is present in the gigbag alongside the screws necessary to affix it. Plastics include the pair of knobs and three-ply black pickguard, which shows a touch of pick scuffing on the treble side. Cosmetic wear is essentially nonexistent, with barely a scratch on the Torino Red finish and an equally pristine neck profile.

The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included, as well as the removed tremolo cover and screws. The zipper on the gigbag’s outer pouch is non-functional, but the bag is otherwise entirely functional.
