Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Stratocaster '72 vintage reissue model ST72/LH in near mint condition and in perfect working order. Made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, this left-handed Strat model is rarely seen outside its country of origin. The guitar features a basswood body and one-piece maple neck, with a trio of ceramic magnet single coil pickups. The ceramic magnets offer more punch and cutting treble snap than traditional alnico single coils, with a broad range of Strat tonalities via the five-way pickup selector switch. Weighing 7lbs 12oz, this '70s Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
The maple neck has a round, modestly chunky C profile carve at the nut with lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .855” deep at the 1st fret and .945” at the 12th. The maple fretboard features flawless slender fretwire which has its full factory height, playing easily up the 25 1/2" scale. The neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and ideally adjusted. The nut measures 1 11/16” in width, and the oversized '70s-style headstock features a block Stratocaster logo, bullet truss rod, and set of original chrome Gotoh tuners.
All of the electronics work as they should, with the stock Japanese wiring harness and trio of original ceramic magnet single coil pickups. The guitar has block saddles for a correct '70s look and a full-size tremolo block for optimal sustain and clarity. The guitar retains its "Made in Japan" text and U-prefix serial number just north of the three-bolt "F" neck plate with micro-tilt adjustment. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black finish is limited to just a few tiny finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the body as a whole, and the clear gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
