Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Stratocaster ‘62 vintage reissue model ST62-TX in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, finished in custom color Seafoam Green. This “Made in Japan” Strat is an upscale, discontinued model, rarely seen outside of its country of origin and loaded with a trio of factory-installed USA-made black bobbin Texas Special pickups.Featuring a traditional tonewood complement of an alder body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fretboard, this Strat has a balanced and immediate natural acoustic response. At the heart of this model is the trio of USA-made Fender Custom Shop Texas Special black bobbin single coils, delivering classic Stratocaster sparkle and cut with additional output and midrange heft. The bridge pickup has a snappy, aggressive snap, the neck pickup is smooth and broad, and the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector switch offer quintessential hollow Strat quack. This ST62-TX weighs 7lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a moderately slender C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820” deep at the 1st fret and .915” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard is a jet black cut of this tonewood with a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius and pristine slender fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. On the headstock, the stock set of Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Made in Japan” text and U-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt neck plate. The electronics function as intended, with the Fender USA Custom Shop Texas Special pickup set wired to the original Japanese harness, governed by a five-way selector switch and standard Volume/Tone/Tone control configuration. Plastics comprise the bright white three-ply pickguard and cream pickup covers and knobs, all of which are extremely clean. The chrome plated hardware includes the jack cup and vibrato which actuates smoothly and has a full size block, complete with its original arm.The custom color gloss Seafoam Green is bold and saturated, with cosmetic wear limited to a number of minor dings on the lower bout body edge, more concentrated on the treble side, and a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.A padded gigbag is included.
