Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Stratocaster ‘57 vintage reissue model ST57 in near-mint condition and in perfect working order. This “Made in Japan” Stratocaster was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and is uncommon outside of its country of origin. Weighing 7lbs 3oz and finished in Sonic Blue, this Strat features the original trio of ceramic magnet single coil pickups, which have a clear sound with more punch and top end snap than most alnico magnet varieties. This ST57 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .850” deep at the 1st fret and .945” at the 12th. The fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius, and the slender fretwire is nigh-flawless, playing cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The bone nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Made in Japan” text and U-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.
All of the electronics function as they should, with the standard Strat control array comprising a five-way selector switch and Volume/Tone/Tone knobs, and the harness features one replacement full-size ESP pot at the second Tone knob. The chrome-plated bridge base and jack cup shine like new, and plastics comprise the single-ply pickguard and bright white knobs and pickup covers.
The gloss Sonic Blue finish is bright and bold, and cosmetic wear limited to a scant few tiny dings on the body as a whole. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is immaculate.
A Gator-brand gigbag is included.
