Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Mustang ‘69 vintage reissue model MG69 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag. Made exclusively for the Japanese market and rarely seen outside its country of origin, this Mustang model boasts a custom color Rebel Yellow gloss finish. There's plenty to love about this Mustang, from the lightweight and resonant body to the pair of stock single coil pickups that deliver plenty of snap and twang. The crisp, clear voice of the instrument when strummed acoustically translates well through the pickups. Of course one of the most fun sounds on the Mustang is the out-of-phase setting, engaged when both on/off/on pickup selector switches are at their innermost or outermost points. The quack and spank of that particular setting is unique to the Mustang, and there's plenty of tonal range between the two pickups, with meatier sounds when the neck pickup is soloed and more aggressive twang at the bridge. This Mustang is featherweight at 6lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a round medium depth C-shaped profile carve with tons of shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .835” deep at the 1st fret and .945” at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius and flawless slender fretwire, playing cleanly in all registers with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. At 24", the scale length is ideal for smaller hands and players looking to execute chord extensions that might be a bit more of a stretch at Fender's full scale. The bone nut measures 1 9/16" in width. The headstock features Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The “Made in Japan” text and U-prefix serial number are present above the F-embossed four-bolt neck plate. All of the electronics function as intended, with Master Volume and Tone controls governing the pickup pair. Plastics include the original knobs and the dimensional white pearloid pickguard, and the chrome-plated hardware shines like new. The vibrato unit is complete with its original black tipped arm, actuating smoothly and working in concert with the bridge's barrel saddles. The gloss Rebel Yellow finish is bright and bold, and this is an extremely well-kept example, with cosmetic wear limited to just a few microscopic marks on the body as a whole. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is nigh-flawless, with one faint finish scratch on the treble-side of the carve behind frets 1-2.The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included. The main zipper on the bag functions as it should, and the case pocket zipper is missing its tab.
