Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Jazz Bass fretless ‘62 vintage reissue model JB62-FL in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This “Made in Japan” bass was designed to recreate Jaco Pastorius’ famed fretless Jazz Bass, featuring a number of vintage-accurate touches including long-stem reverse-gear clover button tuners, spiral (threaded) bridge saddles, and USA-made single coil pickups.
Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and lined slab rosewood fingerboard. This JB62-FL delivers plenty of treble growl, burp, and smooth low end via the pickup pair. The signal can get throaty and broad with the neck pickup favored, or dial up the bridge pickup for a more punchy, midrange forward tone. Weighing 8lbs 10oz, this JB62-FL has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 flatwound strings, easy-playing action and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Slender U, measuring .820” at the nut, .990” at the octave
-Fretboard: Rosewood, vintage-spec 7 1/4” radius, lined
-Scale Length: 34”
-Nut: 1 1/2”, bone
-Tuners: Clover button, long-stem, reverse-gear (vintage-spec)
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” U-prefix
Body Specs:
-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: Fender USA single coil x2
-Controls: Volume x2, Tone
-Hardware: Bridge with spiral (threaded) saddles, control plate
-Plastics: Pointer knobs
The three-tone Sunburst finish is accurate to vintage-spec with a burst that is only two-tone beneath the area where a pickguard would typically be mounted. Cosmetic wear is limited to a couple of chips on the treble-side perimeter, a few finish scratches at the belly carve on the back, and some small dings on the lower bout. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
A Fender-branded gigbag is included.
