Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Jaguar Bass in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This since-discontinued, upscale model was the first Jaguar Bass offered by Fender, designed as a souped-up, more versatile take on the classic Jazz Bass platform. Made in Japan, the Jaguar Bass retains the same single coil pickups and dimensions as the Jazz Bass model, with a bevy of new tonal sculpting options and active circuitry.Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fretboard. The stock JB Single pickups are defined and round-sounding, with plenty of midrange cut and burp in the bridge position and ample girth at the neck. A two-way toggle on the hexagonal control plate can engage both pickups in series for extra punch and a touch of growl, and the controls on the upper bout engage a separate active circuit (powered by a 9V battery) with a two-band EQ to further dial in the perfect tone. This Jaguar Bass weighs 9lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, optimal action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve at the nut, with lightly rolled fretboard edges and moderate shoulder, gaining appreciably more heft in the higher registers, measuring .825” deep at the 1st fret and .975” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features pearloid block inlay and flawless medium jumbo fretwire. This bass plays cleanly in all registers with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. In line with traditional Jazz Bass specifications, the scale length is 34” and the nut measures 1 1/2“ in width. The matching headstock has vintage-style chrome-plated tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The "Made in Japan" text and U-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt neck plate. The electronics all function as intended, including Master Volume and Tone knobs, dedicated pickup on/off switches, a Series/Parallel switch and two-band active EQ circuit.  The chrome-plated hardware all shines like new, including the control plates and four-saddle bridge with vintage-style spiral saddles. The three-ply parchment pickguard rounds out the plastics. This is an exceptionally well-kept example, with cosmetic wear on the Hot Rod Red finish limited to just one area of impact on the treble-side lower bout body edge with some modest finish chipping. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is pristine. The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included.
