Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Empress limited edition USA-made Telecaster in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and upgraded with a Mastery M4 bridge. Part of Fender's very limited run of Telebration guitars offered to celebrate Fender's 60th anniversary of their original electric guitar model, this Empress Telecaster has a body constructed of Empress wood, featherweight at 6lbs 1oz with a clear and lively natural acoustic voice. The "Hot Tele" single coils feature Alnico III magnets and deliver plenty of snap and snarl, with cutting, chiming tones from the bridge pickup and more girth and warmth when switched to the neck position single coil. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Telecaster is dialed in with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The 22 fret maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with just enough roundness in the shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .895" at the 12th. The medium jumbo frets are flawless on the 25 1/2" scale, the fretboard radius is 9 1/2", and the nut measures 1 11/16" in width. The headstock retains the original Fender-branded and Schaller-made tuning machines, and while the guitar has a "US12" prefix serial number (indicating 2012), this model was actually released in 2011.
The electronics function as intended, with the Hot Tele single coil pair wired to a traditional Telecaster control layout, complete with Fender's Greasebucket tone circuit which smoothly rolls off highs without adding bass. Hardware includes the upgraded Mastery M4 bridge with two self-lubricating hard chrome-plated brass saddles that ensure ideal top end articulation and accurate intonation (original bridge is also included).
The Olympic White finish is a creamy, slightly yellowed factory shade accented by a three-ply white pickguard (original single-ply guard is also included). Cosmetic wear is limited to some light finish scratches and a couple small dings on the back, mostly clustered on the treble-side lower bout edge. The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless, and the fretboard itself has a gloss finish.
The original Fender-branded tweed hardshell case is included, along with the original bridge and pickguard.
