Up for sale, a 2011 Fender American Special Precision Bass in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A straightforward and tonally-rich USA-made iteration of the Precision Bass platform, this 60th Anniversary P-bass has a traditional split coil pickup paired with Fender's Greasebucket Tone circuit which rolls of highs without changing the character of the bass frequencies. With an alder body and one-piece maple neck, this traditional tonewood complement ensures a balanced, smooth quality with ideal articulation and clear note attack. The bass weighs 8lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-105 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .800" deep at the 1st fret and .910" at the 12th. The maple fretboard has a modern 9 1/2" radius with perfect medium jumbo fretwire. Notes ring out clearly in every register up the 34" scale, and the nut measures a comfortable 1 5/8" in width. The headstock features a block 70s-style Precision Bass logo, and the clover button tuning machines turn very smoothly and hold pitch well.
The simple electronics function as intended, the chrome-plated hardware is nigh flawless including the bridge, knurled knobs, and 60th Anniversary neck plate, and the original parchment pickguard is intact showing some UV-related aging around the original pick-shaped Fender advert that was once on the guard. The gloss Black finish shows only a couple exceedingly faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the back, while the satin neck profile finish is flawless.
A premium Gator-made Mono-style gigbag is included.
