Up for sale, a 2010 Yamaha SAS1500 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This rare Yamaha semi-hollow features a scaled-down thinline body with a 14” lower bout width, loaded with a pair of coil splittable custom-wound Yamaha SAH-SA Alnico V humbuckers.
The quilted mahogany/birch semi-hollow body has a mahogany/spruce centerblock, paired with a mahogany neck and a bound ebony fingerboard. The mahogany construction delivers a certain midrange warmth and growl, paired with the resonance and tonal breadth of the semi-hollow design. The SAH-SA humbuckers are wound in the vein of a PAF, delivering full lows, smooth trebles, and a tailored midrange for optimal clarity. Each humbucker also has a dedicated push/push coil taps at the Tone knobs for single coil tonalities. This SAS1500 is lightweight at 6lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
