Up for sale, a 2010 Taylor NS24e nylon string acoustic electric guitar in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original padded softshell case and factory paperwork. Featuring Taylor’s Grand Auditorium body shape, tonewoods include a fan-braced Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood laminate back and sides, a tropical American mahogany neck, and slab ebony fingerboard. The tone is smooth and resonant, with a bell-like treble response, balanced midrange, and clear, focused lows. The lower bout width measures 16", and the piezo pickup is very natural-sounding with active Treble and Bass knobs that have an impressive range. This Taylor weighs 4lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar with normal tension strings and comfortable action. The mahogany neck has a medium depth D-shaped profile carve with well-rounded shoulders and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .875” at the 9th. The thick slab ebony fingerboard features a 16" radius and flawless slender fretwire, playing cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 7/8” in width. The headstock sports an Indian rosewood veneer and truss rod cover, and the strip tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch, with white pearloid buttons. The ebony bridge sits flush with the top on all edges, and the compensated Tusq saddle has ample room for future adjustment. The action at the 12th fret sits at an easy-playing 8/64” on the bass side and 6/64” on the treble side. The electronics all function flawlessly, with the piezo pickup governed by low-profile Master Volume, Treble, and Bass knobs on the bass-side upper bout rim. The active electronics are powered by a 9V battery, easily accessed below the 1/4" endpin jack. The soundhole is framed by a Mexican cypress rosette, and the label is visible on the interior of the body. There's barely a scratch on the body, and the neck profile is similarly flawless. While the top presents as a gloss, the back, rims and neck profile have a smooth satin feel. Taylor's ultraviolet-cured finish provides a striking appearance, smooth feel, and lasting protection. Unlike lacquer finishes, Taylor's UV finish is resistant to checking due to temperature fluctuation, and is much more environmentally friendly. It's also clearer than lacquer and doesn't yellow with age, so wood grain and natural colorations are more distinct. The original Taylor-branded padded softshell case is included, along with the factory paperwork.
