Up for sale, a 2010 Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 Special "Bladeswitch" in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. This PRS features a highly figured bookmatched flame maple 10 Top, mahogany body, and a mahogany neck with a Wide Thin profile capped with an East Indian rosewood fretboard. The guitar offers plenty of natural sustain, woody warmth and singing treble cut, qualities faithfully captured by the original HSH pickup complement. The neck and bridge humbuckers are a pair of PRS' 245 pickups which deliver classic PAF-esque tones with clear trebles, tight lows, and balanced midrange. The Lindy Fralin-made pickup in the middle position compliments the two humbuckers with single coil sparkle, and this Paul Reed Smith offers unique sounds at every position on the five-way selector switch with an additional push/pull global coil tap on the Tone knob. Weighing 8lbs 5oz, this PRS has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and spot-on intonation. The mahogany neck sports PRS’ Wide Thin profile carve, a moderately slender C-shaped profile with well-rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .890” at the 12th. The East Indian rosewood fretboard has a 9 1/2“ radius with abalone "birds in flight" inlay, and the stock medium jumbo fretwire is practically perfect, only exhibiting a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 3-7. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25” scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures a full 1 11/16” in width. On the headstock, the PRS-stamped locking tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch, and the handwritten serial is present on the back of the headstock along with the "10" denoting the 10 Top premium flame maple cap.All of the electronics function as intended; the pickups are wired to a five-way blade pickup selector with Master Volume and Tone controls, plus the push/pull coil tap at the Tone knob. The nickel-plated hardware has plenty of shine, including the Strat-style tremolo and pickup covers. The tremolo has a brass block, actuating smoothly and bouncy quickly back to pitch from expressive warbles and deeper dives. The amber knobs round out the plastics. The gloss Mateo Mist finish highlights the extremely dense bookmatched straight tiger flame figuring which extends with great consistency and dimension across the two-piece carved maple top. Cosmetic wear is limited to some very light buckle rash on the back at the control cavity cover and just a scant few tiny marks on the lower bout body perimeter. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless. The original hardshell case is included, along with the hangtags.
