Up for sale, a 2010 Fender Telecaster Custom '72 vintage reissue in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Manufactured in Japan and intended only for the domestic Japanese market, this Telecaster Custom is a faithful and very well-crafted reissue, embodying everything that makes the Telecaster Custom model so versatile and fun to play.

With a Wide Range humbucker in the neck position and a traditional Tele single coil at the bridge, this Tele has a very broad tonal spectrum, from thick, meaty humbucker tones in the neck position to chiming, twangy single coil tones at the bridge. Of course the middle position is truly a "best of both worlds" setting, and the two pickups balance well both in terms of output and their respective tonal attributes. Weighing only 7lbs 9oz with an ash body, this guitar has an authoritative acoustic tone with sweet sustain that translates well through the pickups. We've had this Tele professionally setup here at our shop, Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, strung with 10-46 strings and dialed in for low action.

The one-piece maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .920" at the 12th. The gloss-finished maple fretboard boasts practically perfect original slender vintage-style fretwire, and the guitar plays cleanly up the straight neck with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length measures 25 1/2", while the fretboard radius also matches vintage spec at 7 1/4". The nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width. On the headstock, the Gotoh-branded tuners turn very smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The "Made in Japan" text and U-prefix serial number are present above the three-bolt F neck plate.

All of the electronics work as intended, with each pickup wired to independent Volume and Tone knobs, in addition to a three-way pickup selector toggle. Plastics include the original quartet of witch hat knobs and stock three-ply pickguard, which shows a bit of light pick scuffing across the strum path. The chrome plating on the hardware is gleaming, and the bridge retains its trio of steel barrel saddles. Extremely well-kept with a vibrant three-tone Sunburst gloss that highlights the grain of the ash body, cosmetic wear is limited to just a few light finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

A gigbag is included.
