Up for sale, a 2007 Fender Telecaster '72 vintage reissue in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This Fender Japan Tele is a discontinued model, rarely seen outside its country of origin. The guitar has sleek cosmetics with a gloss Black finish on the basswood body and one-piece maple neck, and the guitar's natural acoustic tone is balanced and clear. The resulting tonal palette yields a bridge pickup that has ample twang and chime. The neck pickup has a smooth, open tone with warm lower mids and airy highs. The guitar weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action and 10-46 strings.
The maple neck has a medium C profile carve with round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .830" deep at the 1st fret and .915" at the 12th. The original slender frets are flawless, playing cleanly in every register. The neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The scale length is 25 1/2", and the nut measures 1 11/16". The headstock features a '70s-style Telecaster block logo, as well as original Gotoh tuners that turn very smoothly. The "Made in Japan" text and T-prefix serial are present just above the four-bolt neck plate.
All of the original electronics function as intended, and all original hardware and plastic parts are present. The bridge features a trio of steel barrel saddles, showing just a touch of light surface patina. Wear on the gloss Black finish is limited to just a few faint finish scratches, mostly relegated to the back and lower bout body edges. The unambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
