Up for sale, a 2010 Fender Telecaster ‘71 vintage reissue model TL71/Ash in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag. This discontinued “Made in Japan” Tele was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, uncommon outside of its country of origin.

Featuring an ash body finished in a translucent Blonde gloss paired with a one-piece maple neck, this Tele has a natural acoustic tone with plenty of treble articulation, midrange authority and clear note attack. The stock single coil pickups deliver classic shimmering Tele tonalities; the bridge has ample twang and chime, and the neck pickup has a smooth, throaty tone with airy highs and warm lower mids. Weighing 8lbs, this Tele has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .845” deep at the 1st fret and .930” at the 12th. The fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius, and the stock slender fretwire is flawless, playing cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures just shy of 1.650” (42mm) in width. The headstock sports a ‘70s-style block logo, and the Fender F tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch, with pristine chrome plating and hexagonal buttons. The “Made in Japan” text and T-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the original electronics function as intended, with the stock pickup pair governed by Master Volume and Tone knobs and a three-way pickup selector switch. The hardware is all notably clean, including the chrome-plated control plate and flat-topped knurled knobs, “Pat. Pend” bridge base, and steel barrel saddles. The three-ply white pickguard rounds out the plastics.

The gloss translucent Blonde finish highlights the tight grain of the ash body, and the guitar is very well-kept cosmetically, with wear limited to some scuffing on the lower bout body edge adjacent to the rear strap button. The smooth gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included.
