Up for sale, a 2010 Fender Telecaster '62 vintage reissue model TL62-US in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtag and padded gigbag. This "Made in Japan" Telecaster is a rare instrument meant only for the Japanese domestic market, featuring a gloss "OCR" (Old Candy Apple Red) finish accented by a pale mint green pickguard.Stocked with Fender USA black bobbin single coil pickups from the factory, and the same pickups used in Fender's American Vintage series models, these pickups have comparable output and tonal characteristics to genuine vintage coils. The neck pickup is smooth and round, retaining a distinctive cut and bell-like sparkle, while the middle position on the three-way toggle has a balanced, full sound that's ideal for rhythm work. Of course the bridge position is easily identifiable for its twang, snap, and grit, featuring flat alnico pole pieces akin to the first Teles and Broadcasters. The guitar weighs 7lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation. The maple neck profile has a medium C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges for added comfort. The profile gains a bit more meat as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .960” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard is a notably thick and dark cut, boasting Fender's traditional 7 1/4" fretboard radius and flawless vintage-style fretwire. The neck is straight, and the guitar plays cleanly in every register. The scale length is 25 1/2", and the bone nut measures 42mm (1.653") in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and work as they should. The "Made in Japan" text and T-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the electronics function as intended, with the stock pair of black bobbin USA-made Fender pickups wired to the original harness. The chrome hardware shines like new, and the bridge features vintage-spec spiral saddles. Plastics include the pale mint green pickguard which retains its clear protective factory plastic and USA Pickups sticker. The finish is known as Old Candy Apple Red, as it's a notably darker and more vintage-correct shade of this classic custom color, compared to previous Fender Japan offerings. Cosmetic wear is limited to just a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the back, and a couple small dings on the top lower bout edge adjacent to the input jack. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless. The original hangtag with matching serial, manual, and padded gigbag are included.
