Up for sale, a 2010 Fender Mustang ‘69 vintage reissue model MG69/MH in showroom-clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with hangtags. A discontinued model produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and uncommon outside of its country of origin, this “Made in Japan” Mustang boasts a Candy Apple Red gloss finish with matching headstock.
Lightweight at 7lbs 1oz, this Mustang has a smooth, cutting voice when strummed acoustically, qualities which translate well through the pickups. The single coils have a clear, sparkling tone, and the on/off/on pickup selector switches can also engage the distinctive Mustang out-of-phase sound in the innermost and outermost positions. This Mustang MG69/MH has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Round C, measuring .935” 1st fret, 1.035” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, vintage-spec 7 ¼” radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 24”
-Nut: 1 9/16”, bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” U-prefix
Body Specs:
-Wood: Basswood
-Pickups: MG-Vintage single coil x2
-Controls: Volume, Tone, Pickup On/Off/On switch x2
-Hardware: Vibrato, bridge with barrel saddles, control plate
-Plastics: Three-ply white pearloid pickguard, pointer knobs
The gloss Candy Apple Red finish is abbreviated "OCR" in the Fender Japan catalog for Old Candy Apple Red, denoting a darker and more vintage-correct shade of this classic custom color than other Fender Japan offerings. While technically a used instrument, there’s barely a mark on the body and the ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Fender-branded gigbag and hangtags are included.
