Up for sale, a 2010 Fender Jazz Bass ‘62 vintage reissue in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This 1962 reissue Jazz Bass (officially model JB62-US) was made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, rarely seen outside its country of origin, featuring vintage-spec hardware and USA-made pickups.

Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fretboard, offering a resonant acoustic tone that translates well through the pickups. The Fender USA Jazz Bass pickups faithfully recreate a traditional tonal palette with beefy mids and crisp articulation; yielding broad thump with the Tone rolled back to taste and and more growl and aggression with it all the way up. This Jazz Bass weighs 9lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, comfortable action and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve at the nut, with lightly rolled fretboard edges and a bit more chunk and shoulder as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .820” deep at the 1st fret and .975” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4” radius with nigh flawless original slender fretwire. The bass plays cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 1/2” in width. On the headstock, the original clover-button chrome tuning machines turn smoothly and function as they should. The “Made in Japan” text and T-prefix serial number are both present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics work as they should, with the standard Volume/Volume/Tone knob configuration governing the two USA Fender Jazz Bass pickups. Hardware includes the bridge with spiral saddles and control plate, both of which have gleaming chrome plating. Plastics include the original trio of knobs and the three-ply white pickguard. Cosmetic wear is limited to some light finish scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole, particularly concentrated on the treble side of the back. The gloss finish on the neck profile is immaculate.

A gigbag is included.
