Up for sale, a 2010 Fender Jazz Bass '62 vintage reissue in near mint, 100% original condition, complete with the original hangtags. This 1962 reissue Jazz Bass (officially model JB62) was made only for the Japanese domestic market, rarely seen outside its country of origin.

The fit and finish of the "Made in Japan" instruments rivals Fender's American Vintage line, and both acoustically and plugged in, this Jazz Bass is an impressive instrument with a smooth, resonant natural acoustic response. Weighing 9lbs, the bass has plenty of midrange presence and articulate growl, and rolling back the Tone control yields ample thump. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with roundwound 45-100 strings, this Jazz Bass plays well with comfortable action and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve at the nut, with lightly rolled fretboard edges and more overall roundness and heft as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .805" deep at the 1st fret and 1.005" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius and flawless slender fretwire. The bass plays cleanly up the 34" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 1/2" in width. On the headstock, the original clover button chrome tuning machines are intact, and the lightly ambered peghead sports the correct '62-style Fender Jazz Bass decal. The "Made in Japan" text and U-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics work as they should, the chrome hardware shines like new, and plastics include the original trio of knobs and white three-ply pickguard which retains its clear protective factory film over the plastic.

The gloss finish is abbreviated by Fender Japan as OCR or "Old Candy Red," a darker and more vintage correct shade of Candy Apple Red than previous Fender Japan iterations. Exceedingly well-kept, cosmetic wear is limited to just a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss, relegated to the back. The ambered gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included, along with the manual and hangtag with matching serial number.
