Up for sale, a 2010 Fender Jazz Bass '62 vintage reissue in showroom clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags and padded gigbag. This 1962 reissue Jazz Bass (officially model JB62) was made only for the Japanese domestic market, thus rarely seen outside its country of origin. The fit and finish of the "Made in Japan" instruments rivals Fender's American Vintage line, and both acoustically and plugged in, this Jazz Bass is an impressive instrument. Weighing 9lbs 4oz, the bass has plenty of midrange presence and articulate growl, and rolling back the tone control yields ample thump. Dialed in here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with roundwound 45-100 strings, this Jazz Bass plays well with comfortable action and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a full-feeling medium depth U-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .985" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius with original slender frets that have their full factory height, showing virtually no wear with well-rounded crowns. The bass plays well up the 34" scale length with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures  1 1/2" in width. On the headstock, the original clover button chrome tuning machines are intact, and the lightly ambered peghead sports the correct '62-style Fender Jazz Bass decal. The "Made in Japan" text and U-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the electronics work as they should, and the chrome bridge base and control plate shine like new. The original clear protective factory film is still intact over the brown tortoise pickguard, and there's barely a scratch on the three-tone Sunburst gloss finish. The original hangtags are included, as is the padded gigbag, which is included more for the sake of originality than for functionality, as the zipper does not zip.
