Up for sale, a 2010 Fender Classic 60s Jazz Bass in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. With a rich Walnut finish that extends to the neck profile and headstock, this "Made in Japan" Jazz Bass was a Factory Special Run model (FSR) produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and long ago discontinued. As such, this model is rare outside its country of origin and boasts a solid ash body with prominent grain visible through the transparent gloss. The ash body adds a certain punch and power to the tone of the instrument, with stock pickups that deliver great midrange character and presence to cut through a mix, as well as plenty of low end thump. Whether you want the more present bark and burp of the Jazz Bass' bridge pickup or the smoother, wider sounds of the neck pickup, this Jazz Bass has you covered. The bass weighs 8lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, comfortable action and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a medium depth U-shaped profile carve with full shoulders, measuring .825" at the 1st fret and .995" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has subtle black binding, and the slender fretwire is practically perfect with well-rounded crowns. The bass plays easily in every register with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius and 34" scale length, and the bone nut measures 1 1/2" in width. The headstock features black chrome tuning machines and matching string guide. The "Made in Japan" text and U-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the electronics work as intended, and this bass really stands out with a single-ply black pickguard and black chrome hardware accenting the Walnut finish. There is some surface patina on the black chrome-plated control plate, bridge base, tuners, and neck plate. The transparent Walnut finish is remarkably well-kept, with just a couple exceedingly faint marks and finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss. The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
