Up for sale, a 2010 Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. An extremely versatile iteration of the Precision Bass platform, the American Deluxe model was the precursor to the current "Ultra" models, featuring both a traditional split-coil Precision pickup and a Jazz Bass single coil in the bridge position. The pickup pair is coupled to an active preamp with three band EQ, as well as Master Volume knob, Pickup Pan knob, and a two-way Active/Passive mini toggle. Tonewoods include an ash body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fretboard, and the bass offers both broad, thump and articulate, smooth growl. The bass weighs 9lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a "Modern C" neck profile shape, a slender carve with nicely rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .815" deep at the 1st fret and .910" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a modern 9.5" radius with flawless medium jumbo fretwire, fretting cleanly up the 34" scale with a contoured five-bolt neck plate ensuring effortless access to the highest frets. The nut measures 1 5/8" in width, and the headstock features lightweight chrome tuning machines that turn very smoothly.
All of the electronics function as intended, and hardware includes Fender's High Mass Vintage bridge, which facilitates both string-through and top-loader functionality. The Transparent Wine Red gloss finish subtly highlights the grain of the ash body, and cosmetic wear is limited to light finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss along the edge of the belly contour, and just a few additional minor marks on the back. There is pick wear across the black three-ply pickguard, and a couple faint scuffs above the bridge base. The satin-finished neck profile is flawless.
A Fender-branded gigbag is included.
