Up for sale, a 2010 Fender Aerodyne Stratocaster medium scale model AST-M/SSH in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with a Gunmetal Blue gloss finish. A "Made in Japan" exclusive model not designed for export, this Strat features a shorter 24 3/4" scale, contoured neck heel, satin neck profile finish, and a 9 1/2" radius fretboard, all features engineered for lightning fast playing and easy bending. The basswood body offers a neutral, balanced tonal profile, especially favored for high gain scenarios, and the original "Dimarzio Collection" Dragster BB bridge position humbucker is clear and powerful, equal parts punchy and cutting. The neck and middle position single coils offer more traditional Strat sparkle and chime, with a broad tonal palette accessible via the five-way pickup selector switch. This Aerodyne feels elegant and effortless, lightweight at 7lbs and professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .810" deep at the 1st fret and .915" at the 12th. The dark, tight-grained 22 fret slab rosewood fretboard has a modern 9 1/2" radius, and the stock medium jumbo fretwire has plenty of meat, showing virtually no wear and playing easily up the 24 3/4" scale. The nut measures 1 9/16" in width, and the matching Gunmetal Blue headstock features Kluson-style Gotoh tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The four-bolt neck has a contoured heel allowing for easy access to the highest frets, and the "Made in Japan" text with T-prefix serial number is present directly above the neck heel. All of the electronics function as intended, with clean black plastic parts and chrome hardware that's positively gleaming. The vintage-style Strat vibrato actuates easily for quick flutters and deeper dives, complete with the original arm. There's barely a scratch on the gloss Gunmetal Blue finish, which is accented by cream top binding, and the satin neck profile finish is also nigh flawless. The original factory paperwork is included, along with the original padded Fender gigbag which has a faint smokey smell that doesn't translate to the guitar.
