Out Of Stock
Up for sale, a 2010 Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Fender-branded gigbag. A "Made in Japan" exclusive model not designed for export, this particular Aerodyne is unique both visually and sonically, with a PJ pickup configuration, bound body, and Dolphin Grey metallic finish with matching headstock. While most Fender basses that have the PJ pickup configuration use a Precision-style body, this Aerodyne has the sleek looks and comfortable 1 1/2" nut width of the Jazz Bass, providing both the ample thump and heft of a split coil Precision neck pickup and the midrange cut and articulation of a Jazz pickup at the bridge. This bass is well-balanced on a strap and weighs 8lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with 45-105 roundwound strings.

The maple neck has a medium C profile carve with modest shoulders and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .995" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard is an extremely dark and tight-grained cut, featuring dot inlay and pristine stock slender vintage-style frets with their full factory height and well-rounded crowns. The bass plays effortlessly up the straight neck with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. Conforming to traditional Jazz Bass specifications, this Aerodyne features a 34" scale length and easily navigable 1 1/2" nut width. The matching Dolphin Grey headstock features chrome clover button tuning machines that turn very smoothly and hold pitch well. The "Made in Japan" text and T-prefix serial number are present just above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics function as intended, with individual Volume knobs for each pickup and a Master Tone control. The chrome Strat-style knobs, control plate, and bridge show just a hint of surface patina. Cosmetic wear is limited to faint scuffs in the pick path, and light marks mostly relegated to the back treble side lower bout edge and treble side upper bout. The neck sports a flawless smooth satin finish.
