Up for sale, a 2010 Fender Jazzmaster '66 vintage reissue model JM66B in near mint, 100% original condition and perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags. One of the rarest (and arguably coolest) Jazzmasters ever produced by Fender Japan, this discontinued custom color model with matching headstock features an Olympic White gloss finish, neck binding, pearl block inlay, and F tuning machines. A "Made in Japan" model only intended for the Japanese domestic market, this Jazzmaster is rarely seen outside its country of origin.
An alder bodied Jazzmaster, the balanced, smooth acoustic properties of the instrument are channeled faithfully through the stock single coil pair, with plenty of snap and chewy twang on tap. The guitar offers great clarity and a chiming, defined sound in every pickup position. Switching to the oft-disregarded Rhythm Circuit on the guitar's bass-side body horn yields a set of smoother, darker tonalities, great for lead work or thickening up your favorite fuzz. The guitar weighs 8lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments with low action, 10-46 strings, and spot-on intonation.
The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders in every register, measuring .810" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard has a vintage spec 7 1/4" radius, featuring both cream binding and pearloid block inlay. The original slender frets retain their full factory height, showing no wear with perfectly rounded crowns, playing cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale length with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The fretboard measures a full 1 11/16" wide at the nut, and the nut itself is inset from the binding. On the matching Olympic White headstock, the guitar features a Pre-CBS style "Spaghetti" Jazzmaster logo, with Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The "Made in Japan" text and T-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.
All of the electronics work as they should, and the wiring and pickups are stock. The chrome plating on the hardware shines like new, and the vibrato unit engages smoothly for quick warbles and surfy dives, working in concert with the stock bridge. Plastics include a dark brown tortoise pickguard and bright white pickup covers and knobs. The Olympic White gloss finish is stunningly well-kept, with cosmetic wear limited to a few darker marks in the clear coat of the gloss along the lower bout body edge (presumably from contact with the gigbag lining).
The original Fender-branded gigbag, hangtags (with matching serial) and manual are included.
***We are dealers for the Mastery M2 bridge, OMV-P Offset Vibrato, and Lollar Jazzmaster pickups, any or all of which can be installed prior to shipment for an additional charge***
