Up for sale, a 2010 Fender '62 Stratocaster Medium Scale model ST62M-US in near mint, 100% original condition and perfect working order. A very rare discontinued model crafted exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, this Strat has a host of unique features with a slightly more compact 24 3/4" scale length, slender 1 9/16" nut width, medium jumbo fretwire, 12" fretboard radius, and USA Fender 57/62 pickups.

Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and rosewood slab fretboard, and the instrument has a full and lively natural acoustic tone. The pickups are a trio of original USA-made American Vintage 57/62 single coils with black bobbins, staggered alnico magnets, and cloth-covered leads. Coupled to a five-way pickup selector switch, this Strat offers everything from bridge pickup sparkle to bell-like warmth at the neck, with percussive cut and squawk in the 2 and 4 switch positions. This Strat weighs 7lbs 9oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and solid intonation.

The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve that's a hair more slender at the nut, capped with a thick, dark slab rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has a 305mm radius (12"), and the medium jumbo fretwire has plenty of meat, showing just a hint of wear on the crowns beneath the plain strings on frets 1-5. The guitar plays cleanly in every position with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is 24 3/4”, and the nut measures 40mm (1 9/16") in width. The headstock sports a Pre-CBS small Strat shape, with correct logo and Kluson-style Gotoh tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch well. Above the four-bolt neck plate, the "Made in Japan" text and U-prefix serial number are intact.

All of the electronics work as intended, and the trio of USA-made Fender single coil pickups are wired to the original harness  The hardware has bright chrome plating on the bridge base and jack cup, with light patina across the saddles. The vibrato actuates easily for dives and warbles, complete with the original arm and jumping back to the original pitch with ease. All original plastics are intact with light aging of two of the Tone knobs and light pick scuffing on the treble side of the guard. There's barely a scratch on the Olympic White gloss finish, and the ambered gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
