Up for sale, a 2010 Edwards E-U-HL2 Hellion II Uruha Signature electric guitar in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A signature guitar for Uruha, guitarist for Japanese visual kei band, the Gazette, the foundation of the E-U-HL2 model is the Edwards Potbelly. This guitar delivers the goods with a solid mahogany body and highly figured quilted maple top, loaded with a stock pair of USA-made Seymour Duncan humbuckers.
The bridge position Custom 5 (SH-14) high output humbucker pickup is a brighter, alnico 5 version of the popular Custom Custom. It has a full tone, scooped midrange, and excellent balance of bass and treble frequencies. In the neck position, the SH-1 was designed in the spirit of the original PAF, with sweet, singing sustain, wound to deliver clear, full chords and a touch of midrange growl when you dig in. This Edwards weighs 7lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action and spot-on intonation.
The mahogany neck has a modestly chunky C shape with round shoulders and an effortless feel, measuring .870" deep at the 1st fret and .940" at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard has a 12" radius and features dot inlay and pristine slender fretwire. The guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut is a hand-carved piece of bone, ensuring optimal note clarity and sustain, measuring 1 11/16" in width. The headstock features a set of gold Gotoh tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should.
The straightforward electronics work as intended, with a single Volume knob and three-way pickup selector for the USA-made Seymour Duncan humbuckers. The gold hardware shows just a hint of patina, and the wraparound tailpiece is adjustable to ensure accurate intonation with different string gauges and wound/plain G strings. The transparent gloss Malachite Green finish highlights the deep and dimensional figuring on the bookmatched quilted maple top. Cosmetic wear is limited to some light scattered finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the back and body perimeter. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is pristine.
A gigbag is included.
