Up for sale, a 2009 Martin Vintage Series 00-28VS in excellent condition, complete with the original hardshell case. A discontinued Martin Vintage Series concert model, this first-year 00-28VS faithfully replicates a coveted Pre-War feature set, boasting a scalloped X-braced solid Sitka spruce top with Martin’s Aging Toner, herringbone purfling with grained ivoroid binding, East Indian rosewood back and sides, select hardwood (Spanish cedar) neck with slotted headstock and Waverly tuners, and an ebony fingerboard with notched diamonds and squares inlay.
With 12 frets free of the body and a full 1 7/8" nut width, this Martin is ideally engineered for fingerpicking, retaining great clarity and string-to-string balance. Extremely articulate and dynamically responsive, the guitar offers a distinct dryness and immediate note attack. The bass register has a powerful percussive cut, with sweet bloom as notes sustain, while the treble strings are sparkling and crisp.
