Up for sale, a 2009 Ibanez Prestige model S5470F in showroom-clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, finished in Red Viking gloss and complete with the original molded hardshell case and hangtags. Produced at the famed Fujigen factory in Japan, this Ibanez is part of the upscale Prestige line and features an exceedingly slim, contoured mahogany body topped with a dimensional flame maple top, an HSH pickup complement, Wizard Prestige neck profile carve, and ZR2 tremolo with ZPS3 stabilizer. The HSH pickup complement features a pair of Hot Grinder 2 humbuckers flanking a Short Tracer 2 single coil. The Hot Grinder humbuckers are high-output, particularly the bridge pickup, which features one screw pole coil and one blade coil. Both humbuckers are bold and aggressive, with a big, tight low end and boosted mids tailored for high gain. The Short Tracer 2 single coil offers more warmth than a standard single coil, working well with the humbuckers when coil-tapped (positions 2 and 4 on the five-way switch). This Ibanez weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, shred-ready action and spot-on intonation. The maple and walnut five-piece neck has Ibanez’s Wizard Prestige profile, a slender D-shape with full, inviting shoulders, measuring .730” deep at the 1st fret and .820” at the 12th. The slab 24-fret rosewood fretboard has a 16" radius with offset pearl dot inlay at the octave and flawless jumbo fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The locking nut measures 43mm (just a hair over 1 11/16”) in width, offering excellent stability for the ZR2 tremolo. On the headstock, the black Gotoh tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. All of the electronics function flawlessly, with the HSH pickup complement governed by a five-way selector switch and Master Volume and Tone controls. The ZR2 tremolo is one of Ibanez’s most lauded trem designs, offering excellent stability and responsiveness thanks to its “zero resistance” (ZR) ball bearing-based pivot system and Zero Point System 3 (ZSP3) tuning stabilizer. The ZR2 also features a snap-in trem arm and is recessed into the body for optimal break angle. All the hardware is notably clean, including the tremolo and dome-top knurled knobs. The gloss transparent Red Viking finish highlights the tight, dimensional flame figuring on the bookmatched two-piece carved maple top. This is an exceedingly well-kept example, with scarcely a mark on the body. The satin finish on the neck profile is equally pristine and feels lightning fast in the hand.  The original Ibanez Prestige-branded molded hardshell case with red plush interior is included, along with the hangtags and user manual.
