Out Of Stock
Up for sale, a 2009 Gibson Limited Edition SG Premier in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This very rare iteration of the SG platform was produced in limited quantities (likely one of only 100) exclusively for Gibson’s “Mega Outlet Sale” at the Opry Mills (Nashville, TN) flagship store in 2009, featuring maple construction, a gloss Daytona Blue nitro lacquer finish, and a pair of Burstbucker Pro PAF pickups.

The maple body and three-piece flame maple neck give this SG a certain natural articulation and brightness, and a bound rosewood fretboard rounds out the tonewood complement. The Burstbucker Pro PAF pickups offer characteristic harmonic complexity and sweetness, qualities in part derived from their unmatched bobbin windings. Slightly meatier than a typical PAF, these pickups positively sing with more drive and note attack, thanks to the Alnico V magnet design. This SG weighs 7lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Flame maple (three-piece)
-Shape: Medium C at nut, more heft and shoulder in upper registers, measuring .830” 1st fret, .990” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, trapezoid inlay
-Frets: Medium jumbo, faint wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1 11/16”
-Tuners: Gibson Deluxe double-line (doweled mounting holes from Grover Mini Rotomatics)
-Serialization: Stamp translates to 2009, “USED” stamp indicates affiliation with Mega Outlet Sale (instrument was not actually original sold used, merely as-is without warranty according to Gibson)

Body Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Pickups: Burstbucker Pro PAF x2
-Harness: Untouched solder, Gibson-engraved pots
-Controls: Volume x2, Tone x2, Three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Nashville bridge, stopbar
-Plastics: Four-ply “batwing” pickguard, reflector cap knobs

The custom color Daytona Blue gloss nitro lacquer finish is dark and rich, and cosmetic wear is limited to light scuffing along the pick path and a few faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss on the neck profile has more translucency, highlighting the dynamic flame figuring in the maple, with one shallow ding central to the carve behind fret 7 that is imperceptible to the palm while fretting.

The original black Gibson USA hardshell case is included.
